In order to better guide teachers and students to accumulate academic research experience, the school of management invited Professor Morris Altman, who is the Dean of the Business School at the University of Dundee, UK, to give an academic seminar entitled Behavioral economics at Admin Building 906 on April 18th 2024. The seminar was hosted by Prof. Xinliang Ye, who is the associate dean of the school of management. There were around 60 teachers and students participated in the seminar.
Professor Morris Altman is currently working as the Dean of Business School at the University of Dunde. His working expience includes Dean and Professor of Newcastle Business School, Australia, Head of Finance and Economics and Finance at Victoria University of Wellington, visiting scholar at Cambridge University and Stanford University, editor of the Journal of Social Economics for 10 years and co-founder of the journal Behavioral Economics Review.
Starting from his own scientific research direction, he analyzed the basic logic of behavioral economics in a simple way. The basic knowledge of behavioral economics compared with the traditional economics theory was introduced, and the different methods of behavioral economics were compared. The seminar received a warm response from the teachers and students on the spot.
